The Hydra Alien Pro Car Mounting System is a next generation gimbal support solution for car-mounted cinematography and is one of the most accessible and innovative Car Mounting Solutions for RS4 Pro to Ronin 2, starting from $1799 for Pre Order.
The system utilizes a highly customizable combination of dovetail-like plates and suction cups that allows users to fine-tune the exact placement of their shot to achieve almost any angle possible when mounting to a vehicle.
The newly designed dovetail plates feature retractable safety pins at every position which the arm can be mounted. This drastically improves the safety of the system, especially when adjusting the position of the arm via a new sliding design which makes small adjustments quick and easy.
The newly designed shock absorbing arm supports higher payloads up to 28.7lbs and features a motorized shock absorbing head which provides greater stability and uses motors to help stabilize the system similar to a gimbal.
When paired with the optional Nucleus Nano 2 Control Handle, the damping of the shock absorbing head can be adjusted remotely which makes this ideal for fast paced environments and provides the opportunity to fine tune damping settings as road conditions change in real time.
When paired with a lightweight gimbal, this creates an incredibly smooth image while being more user friendly when compared to traditional systems. This innovative system greatly expands possibilities for both entry level and experienced users who may not have the full budget needed for more traditional vehicle mounted rigs.
Optional accessories like the electronic suction cups and our dovetail mounting kit are great options for expanding the functionality of this system.
Please note: when using larger gimbals like the Ronin 2, we recommend only rigging the Hydra Alien Pro with Speed Rail as other suction cup based options are not strong enough to reliably support the system.

SUCTION CUP SAFETY NOTICE:
These Suction Cups, like other suction cups, has the potential to leave marks on various surfaces. It is recommended to take precautions such as using protective film or other materials to protect the surface being used. Using these suction cups in direct sunlight or in hotter environments can increase the chance of leaving a mark. It is not recommended to use these suction cups with wrapped vehicles.
It is recommended to use this suction cup on a flat surface with the weight of the arm balanced over the center of the suction cup. Extending the arm past the suction cup or side mounting the suction cup can increase the risk of failure. In these situations we recommend taking additional precautions such as further securing the system with Ratchet Straps or Safety Chains.Â
Regardless of additional safety measures, we always recommend pushing down the suction cup when first attaching it to any surface. The suction cup should be as flat against the surface as possible and should look noticeably flatter than when not attached. Attaching the suction cup without applying physical force to it can greatly increase the chance of accidental disconnection.Â
