Introducing the Tilta Modular 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II, the perfect addition to your camera rig setup.

This Modular Baseplate provides a reliable and stable foundation for your camera, allowing you to mount various rod-based accessories such as follow focus motors or matte boxes.

The new modular design features an ARCA receiver, enabling you to switch between a Ronin S Series Gimbal and this baseplate quickly and effortlessly.

This ARCA adapter can be easily removed, allowing you to mount other cages or camera systems directly via two 1/4″-20 screws.

The baseplate is designed to be compatible with Tilta Standard Dovetails and can accommodate a wide range of quick-release plates through 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads on the bottom.

With its sturdy and versatile design, the Tilta Modular 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II is the ideal choice for any filmmaker or videographer looking to expand their camera rig.

So close to what I was after

The good first: the build is great. I've been struggling to find something that fits my needs and I went with this one because there's solid, immoveable dovetail on both sides of the plate, so if the lock failed, the camera would slide but wouldn't fall off immediately. Unlike a normal Arca clamp where if one screw fails, everything comes apart. For a heavy rig with a handle on the camera's cage, I don't want to trust all that weight to one thumbscrew. The issue is the description of this product calls it an Arca receiver, but it isn't really. It's for DJI's version ONLY. And while there is a disclaimer saying compatibility with all plates is not guaranteed, in fact Arca compatibility is as far as I could find nonexistent outside of the ones specifically for DJI (even the Tilta Arca plates don't work). If you're switching between this and anything other than DJI gimbals, your only option is to use Smallrig's plates which can somewhat bridge the gap between DJI and a normal Arca experience. If the compatibility was greater, this would be perfect. I still kept it and it's working well at the cost of replacing a bunch of my plates with Smallrig ones.
